Since 2008, Sociable has been a space where disabled people aged 16 and over come together to connect, create, and thrive. From arts and crafts to podcasting and dinner clubs, our community has built something truly special, led by lived experience, driven by inclusion, and powered by friendship.

Now, as we prepare for our next chapter, we’re looking for passionate, thoughtful individuals to join our Board of Trustees and help guide Sociable into the future.

What We’re Looking For

We’re especially keen to hear from people who bring:

Lived experience of disability or exclusion
Skills in fundraising, finance, communications, or governance
A commitment to inclusion and accessibility
Time, energy, and a collaborative spirit

You don’t need to have sat on a board before—we’ll support you with onboarding and training. What matters most is your belief in our mission and your willingness to help us grow.

What Board Members Do

Board members meet regularly to:

Review and guide our strategic direction
Oversee financial and legal responsibilities
Champion our work in the wider community
Support staff and volunteers with insight and encouragement

It’s a voluntary role, but the impact is real—and deeply rewarding.
